If you’ve landed here, you probably have some questions about us. Is NJ Deals a scam? How does the site make money? As consumer advocates, we’re always glad to see consumers asking good questions about where they shop online – and we’re happy to answer when those questions happen to be about us.
Is NJ Deals legit or is it a scam?
We’ve been in business online since 2006, longer than many of the stores we work with! You don’t last as long as we have if you’re not legit. Most of the time when we hear this question, it’s because people don’t understand what we do or how our site works.
So, how does NJ Deals work then?
Let’s say you have a friend who is always finding the best sales and best prices on everything he buys. This friend – let’s call him “Jersey” – is always really excited to tell you about it so you can get in on the deal, too. Jersey calls you up and says, “Hey, I found a really great deal on air fryers at Kohl’s, and it’s the lowest price I’ve seen anywhere since Black Friday. Weren’t you looking for one of those?” Your friend Jersey sounds pretty awesome.
And that’s what “Jersey” does…finds awesome deals & discounts in New Jersey!
If you sell occasional local deals, then how else does NJ Deals make money?
Whenever you buy something we mention in one of our deals, or use one of our coupons, we may get a small commission on the sale. Don’t worry, it doesn’t affect the price you pay. That’s a fee the retailer pays us as a thank-you for sending you their way.

Your Guide to Finding and Buying the Best Deals
Is NJ Deals a store? Am I buying the deals from you?
Yes and No. Occasionally, we list local deals from local vendors in New Jersey. These deals are typically a limited-time offer or promotion from a New Jersey vendor that provides customers with a discount or special price on a product or service for a limited amount of time only.
But we’re also the friend who tells you where and how to get the best deals on the things you want and need.
When you click on one of our affiliate deals, you’re whisked away to Macy’s, Walmart, Home Depot, or one of the thousands of retailers we work with. Once you get there, you can get the deal for yourself, but you’re buying it from them, not us.
It also means that despite our best efforts to confirm that a retailer has enough inventory, the best deals sometimes sell out. That’s not a scam – just supply and demand. We always take these deals down once we know they’re no longer available. We take our deal quality pretty seriously. If a deal isn’t working out for you, then it isn’t doing us any favors, either. Just leave a comment on the deal and we’ll follow up.
